Arts in The Woods
Please help us make Arts in the Woods (AITW), an arts-based summer camp for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ young adults, happen at Easton Mountain this summer!
AITW is designed to empower and create opportunities for at-risk LGBTQ young adults and build an intergenerational community of visual artists, musicians, dancers, writers and performers. For 5 days this August, young people ages 18-29 from NYC, Boston and Connecticut will make their way to Easton. They will learn new skills as they work together on a collective art project. AITW creates space for all participants to heal together from the homophobia, transphobia, racism, inadequate housing, and economic injustice so pervasive in our cities. Our beautiful land offers artistic inspiration and a perfect backdrop for creativity. This is our 4th summer hosting AITW, and the community has continued to grow and thrive.
Expenses for camp include room and board, three meals per day, transportation to and from Easton Mountain, teachers' honorariums, and supplies. The estimated cost for each camper is approximately $500.
Our goal for 2016 is to develop the creativity and leadership of 40 young people. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this incredible experience financially possible. Please help us create Arts in the Woods 2016 by making a donation today!
