Don Bosco

Don Bosco, a 19th century Italian priest who’s feast the church celebrates today, devoted his life to the care of dispossessed youth of his time. Today I pray to this saint that we may be inspired to care for the “disposable” youth of our time. Let us remember to care for the young who labor for so little, so we can have cheap consumer goods, youth of color treated as criminals simply because of the color of their skin, the undocumented imprisoned in “family” detention camps, and the LGBT youth who live on our streets kicked out of their homes by righteous parents.
