It's the gayest, queerest Jewish summer camp ever! Now in its seventh year, Camp Nehirim is five days of swimming, hiking, frisbee, river tubing, campfires, hot tubbing, cookouts, delicious food, inspiring workshops, and that special Nehirim ruach (spirit) of community and spirituality. Imagine the best of Jewish summer camp... but everyone's queer or gay!
The Camp Nehirim atmosphere is light and warm. We build supportive community with one another, but we provide a wide range indoor and outdoor activities, some Shabbat services, and free time to play in the pool or relax in a hammock. Bring a siddur (prayerbook), bring a frisbee, bring your favorite prayer shawl and play clothes. The program runs from Wednesday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
Please note that Easton Mountain is a clothing optional facility. It is up to participants whether to wear or not wear clothing, and many do either or both. We wish to respect everyone's boundaries and practices, and ask that they do the same for others. Questions can be directed to Camp Director David Dunn Bauer and Assistant Director Harvey Perle.
