SOAK UP THE SUN PRESENTER - Sunfire studied with Joseph Kramer and other faculty of the Body Electric School, from which he holds certificates in massage, breathwork, and sacred intimacy. He is certified as an Advanced Energy Healer by the Inner Focus School. Additional studies have included meditation, A Course in Miracles, Ira Progoff's Intensive Journal Work, and several Native American practices. Between 1989 and 2004 he led workshops and retreats that combined spirit and body. He has been involved with Easton Mountain since its first summer, and has lived here since 2005. Recently he has renewed his interest in watercolor, and has exhibited in Saratoga Springs through Saratoga Arts' Art in Public Places program. Art is part of his spiritual path. He is therefore a champion of the Pavilion of Imagination, and is interested in helping others express their inner selves in a variety of media. He also likes to help others use their smart phones to create imaginative videos.
Sunfire will be presenting two workshops for Soak Up the Sun:
Drawing What You Love: We all love cock – let’s draw some! Regardless of your training, Sunfire will help you be artist and model. You'll start with reference photos and move on to drawing real cocks. You’ll have the opportunity to have another man draw your cock while you draw his cock. The artist, Frederick Frank, considers drawing to be a kind of meditation, so this workshop can be considered a meditation with paper, a drawing implement, and a subject that holds your attention.
Listening to Your Body (Sarong Dancing): Your body has wisdom that you might not know. This session is designed to get you in touch with that wisdom. It is based on what (in psychotherapy) is known as Authentic Movement and a similar practice (developed by the Sufi, Mohammad Subuh) called Latihan. We will begin with stretching to awaken your body. Then you will stand holding a sarong and let your body move as it will. You may feel that you are letting Spirit move your body. Through this movement, you will learn a new way to relate to your body and find a new freedom to be in your body. Wear or bring a sarong if you have one. If you don't, come anyway. We will have extra sarongs. If weather permits , this workshop will be outdoors!
