At this special time of year, when gratitude is in the air, all of us on the mountain feel so grateful for the support and love of our members. Like the seasons in nature, things at Easton are always changing, we experience the full spectrum of "life happenings" the highlights of spiritual magic and the most difficult of human challenges. Our path calls us to experience "life on life terms" together in community and knowing that all of you have our back. For this we are profoundly grateful!
I’m Brittany McAndrew, and I’ll be handling the rental contracts, helping with administrative tasks, and supporting in any way I’m able! I have most recently been working on a nearby farm to pursue my passion for feeding my community. I’m excited to be a part of a team that values local community,, but is limitless in how it can reach out to people not only nearby, but all over the world.
We were delighted to have had a visitor from France this month. Luc Pirot from Lyon visited for a few days in mid November. He came on the recommendation of Manuel Grau from Valencia Spain, and is now living in Bali Indonesia. Manuel has taught meditation retreats here in the past and his work is highlighted at (http://mindfulgay.com). Luc was here to observe our community & meet with John to discuss his dream of creating an intentional community in France.
We were delighted to have Liam Clements from London with us for three weeks as a volunteer. His own words are the best way to describe his experience: Hi John, I've got a message for the Easton community and wondered if you would share it for me at your next meeting. " Right now I'm reflecting on my time at Easton and what a contrast it feels to be alone in an unfamiliar city. I'm grateful for the hospitality, friendliness, generosity and welcome everyone in your community gave me. You welcomed me into your home in spite of my faults, social awkwardness, reserved withdrawn nature. You each have a place in my heart and I wish you well. I hope our paths will cross again soon. Love Liam"
We are delighted to share with you all that our newest member is Sharon Morin. Sharon is the mother of Scott, Miguel's boyfriend, and has been a volunteer at Easton Mountain for the past year and a half. She has been a great help in the kitchen and with housekeeping. She said "I come to Easton for the peace, to learn and to make new friends." (Sharon is shown in the photo with John and her duaghter)
A TASTE FOR COMMUNITY
Over the weekend when we hosted; "Create Connection Now" and "Quiet Mind Quiet Heart" John and the kitchen team served an old time Easton favorite that was a hit back in the day when Jeff Haber was our chef. Chicken Marbella was a hit back then and still seems be a favorite. Try it at home: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/8752-the-silver-palates-chicken-marbella
