On the weekend of April 7th-April 9th, Easton Mountain hosted the 2nd Annual Gay Men of Color Retreat. Thanks to the generosity of the Gamma Mu Foundation, Easton was able to host twice the number of men this year than last. Easton is happy to report that over half the 24 attendees were first timers to the Mountain. The men attended workshops on subject matter that included: community building, racism and inter-racial dating, masculinities in gay men of color, healing touch, optimism, affirmations, loss and mourning, etc. Attendees also partook in a dance party, viewed the Academy Award winning film Moonlight, played in the drag closet, walked the grounds, and sweated in the sauna. The men shared personal tragedies and triumphs in the heart circles. Many had personal catharsis' and others quietly allowed the land to begin their healing. The Easton Mountain community is looking forward to next year's GMOC Retreat.
