FINDING YOUR INNER VOICE
A workshop on exploring your creative spirit and finding your voice through writing

In this interactive, hands-on group experience, you will explore your journey as a gay man and learn how to tell your personal stories in compelling ways. The exercises you will do are designed for men at all levels of writing experience. You have powerful stories that deserve to be told.

In this retreat, you will:

• Share snapshots of your life journeys as a gay man
• Read excerpts from established writers such as Sedaris and Burroughs, and learn from their technique
• Loosen up your writing muscles through a series of fun exercises
• Get supportive feedback on your work in a non-judgmental environment
• Develop an action plan to keep writing and to express your creativity in the world

About the Facilitator

Judah Leblang is a writer, teacher and storyteller in Boston. His radio essays and commentaries have been broadcast on more than 160 NPR and ABC network stations around the US. His column, “Life in the Slow Lane,” runs regularly in Bay Windows, Boston’s weekly gay newspaper. His first book, “Finding My Place: One Man’s Journey from Cleveland to Boston and Beyond,” was published in December 2009.
