Harvest of Community

September 26 – October 5, 2025

This fall, we are creating something special: a living, breathing experiment in queer community life at Easton Mountain.

From September 26 through October 5, you are invited to join us for as many days as you like. Come for a weekend, a week, or the full stretch. Whether you have been here many times or have never set foot on the land, this is your chance to immerse yourself in the rhythm of community life.

What Makes This Different

Harvesting Community is not a traditional retreat. There will be no set program and no staff quietly handling everything behind the scenes. Instead, this is a co-creation with everyone who shows up. Residents, volunteers, and staff will be present to guide gently and provide tools, yet the heart of this gathering is the community that emerges when we work, dream, and play together.

You may find yourself stepping into the kitchen to help prepare dinner with a group, leading an activity you suggest that morning, or teaming up with others to complete a project on the land. Each day will take shape through the creativity and willingness of those present. This is an invitation to embrace the unknown and discover what happens when we live and build community together.

What to Expect

Each day will have space for:

  •  Morning meditation and, when available, yoga

  •  Hands-on service projects that care for and improve our space

  •  Heart Circles for connection and visioning

  •  Communal meals prepared together

Our community will offer a few evening activities. On other nights the group may choose to create its own. This could be a song circle, a movie, storytelling, or lighting the sauna.

Why This Matters in Our 25th Year

For a quarter century, Easton Mountain has been a home for queer people and allies to gather, grow, and celebrate. In the early years, John, Harry, and other early adopters lived in a rhythm of improvisation, creativity, and shared effort. Harvesting Community returns to that spirit. It is a chance to roll up our sleeves, share responsibility, and explore what becomes possible when we co-create daily life together.

We are calling on visionary people with bold ideas to join us. Facilitators, creators, community leaders, artists, marketers, carpenters, chefs, and anyone else who wants to step into this exciting experiment are invited to bring their gifts. Together we will create something none of us could imagine alone.

By doing this, we hope that something unexpected will emerge. Connections will be made, ideas will percolate, and the seeds planted during these ten days will bear fruit in the years to come.

How to Join

Choose your own arrival and departure dates. Stay a few days or come for the full experience. This is a donation-based event. Please be as generous as you can to help us cover costs. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Everyone will be placed in the best housing available. If you have specific requests, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.
