501(c)(3) Update
We recently learned that our 501(c)(3) status was administratively revoked by the IRS because some required Form 990 returns were not filed on time.
Administrative revocation for missed filings is an issue that other nonprofit organizations have encountered, and there is an established IRS process for seeking reinstatement.
As soon as we were notified, we began working to bring all required filings up to date. We have brought on a new bookkeeper to strengthen our financial systems. We are also working with our auditor and CPA as well as a nonprofit attorney to guide us through the reinstatement process.
Easton Mountain continues to operate normally as a New York not-for-profit corporation. However, until our 501(c)(3) status is reinstated, we cannot offer tax deductions for donations.
If tax deductibility is not required in your financial situation, we greatly appreciate your continued support.
We take this matter seriously and are committed to addressing it responsibly and as quickly as possible. We appreciate your understanding and continued participation.
