What are you doing New Year’s Eve?
Hail the New is one of Easton Mountain’s longtime traditions and a special way to spend New Year’s with community. It is a chance to slow down, reflect on the year behind us, and look ahead with hope and intention.
Join us December 28–January 1 for our annual New Year’s retreat for GBTQ men, with time for connection, personal growth, relaxation, fun, and making new friends.
Throughout this five-day retreat, our facilitation team will offer workshops and experiences exploring spirituality, touch, movement, poetry, creativity, and deeper connection with yourself and others. We’re happy to welcome back author and sacred activist Don Shewey, who will lead a workshop with his partner Andy. Yoga, our annual talent show, wonderful meals, and offerings from our community facilitators will round out the experience.
You can also enjoy the sauna, explore our winter trails, or simply spend time together in the warmth of community at Easton Mountain. Hail the New is an alcohol-free retreat, offering a welcoming way to be fully present for the celebration and for one another.
Everything leads up to a festive New Year’s Eve. We’ll begin with a reception featuring hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages, followed by a full-course banquet dinner prepared by our chefs, including dessert. This year, we’re delighted to welcome the Albany Gay Men’s Chorus, who will share a selection of seasonal songs alongside other musical performances. Gay men’s choruses have long been part of LGBTQ history and culture, and we’re excited to bring that tradition into our Easton Mountain celebration. Retreat attendees will also have an opportunity to rehearse a number with the chorus earlier that day and join them for one song during the banquet.
The evening continues with our beloved annual ritual by the fire, featuring live music, poetry, intention setting, and quiet reflection. At midnight, we welcome the new year with a joyful dance party hosted by DJ Sean.

Can only join us for New Year’s Eve? A limited number of evening-only tickets are available for $195 per person, including the reception, full-course banquet dinner, Albany Gay Men’s Chorus concert, other musical performances, and our beloved New Year’s Eve ritual and dance party with DJ Sean. Overnight accommodations are not included.

Hail the New is an alcohol free event. While we do not require abstinence, we are interested in supporting conscious connections, and wellness in the lives of those we serve. We provide space for 12-step meetings for those who would like to attend them, and we support people making choices regarding their own well being. Illegal substances will not be tolerated.
