Scott LaSaffre

Scott is a Communication Access Coordinator working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, dedicated to creating inclusive environments by managing American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and CART Captioning services, particularly for individuals navigating Substance Use Disorder and Recovery. Encouraged into the halls of recovery for himself by members of LGBTQIA2S+ AA, he has been an active member of Al-Anon since 2011. He has served as both Al-Anon subcommittee Chair and Co-Chair for SEMRU (Southeastern Massachusetts Round Up), a queer-focused recovery event held every Presidents’ Day weekend in Mansfield, MA.

He has also contributed as a committee member for ‘Winter Paths’ in Southern Maine (District S-2), served as Chair for the Massachusetts Alateen Conference (MAC), and had the honor of speaking at events including the Massachusetts Al-Anon Convention, Provincetown Round Up, New Hampshire Al-Anon Convention, and SEMRU. Scott is a relative newcomer to Easton Mountain, having first attended ‘Awakening Hearts’ in the fall of 2024. He is an avid reader and a proud queer book nerd who believes that joy is an act of resistance—and he is consistently chasing his own recovery. He brings a mix of advocacy, accessibility, and lived experience to every space he enters, always hoping to help others feel seen, supported, and heard. He is excited to be a presenter at this event. He feels fortunate to have discovered Easton and is truly grateful for the men and brothers that he has met here; especially those within its Recovery Community.
