J. Donald Dumpson
J. Donald Dumpson, Ph.D., is an African American Christian man who serves as the Minister of the Arts at the Arch Street Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA. He is also the founder of Diverse Arts Solutions and founder and artistic director of the Philadelphia Heritage Chorale, where he specializes in music borne of the African Diaspora. Donald’s distinguished career includes a 2006 Carnegie Hall debut as Chorus Master for the New York Pops Orchestra’s performances of George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. He also served as chorus master for the 2015 World Meeting of Families - Festival of Families Concert for Pope Francis and an estimated 750,000 people featuring Aretha Franklin, Andrea Bocelli, the Philadelphia Orchestra and has collaborated on performances with artists such as Kathleen Battle, Denyce Graves, and Patti LaBelle. Donald’s personal path to well-being is rooted in creating space for grace, prayer, and meditation.
