ESTATE GIVING
REMEMBERING EASTON MOUNTAIN IN YOUR ESTATE PLANNING
We would like to encourage our community members to participate in Estate Planning as a way to support us.
Providing for Easton Mountain and its programs through your will is a profound demonstration of your commitment to our mission and all that it stands for. The gift you establish in your estate planning, will help Easton Mountain to sustain its mission and programs for future generations.
There are several ways to include EM in your will. You may leave a specific dollar amount or a particular property as a bequest. You may also specify a predetermined percentage of your estate or designate the remainder of your estate after providing for your heirs. All these options will reduce your estate taxes. If you choose to include Easton Mountain in your will, please let us know.
INSURANCE AND RETIREMENT FUND DONATIONS
Some of our community members may find themselves in a position to contribute from assets they no longer need but which can be deeply helpful to support the continued mission and programs of Easton Mountain. Gifts of life insurance and retirement funds are fully tax-deductible.
LIFE INSURANCE
Do you have a life insurance policy that has outlived its original purpose? By reassigning Easton Mountain as a beneficiary, proceeds from the policy will support EM in the future while providing immediate tax benefits to you.
RETIREMENT PLANS
When no longer needed, an IRA or other assets can be transferred to various types of charitable remainder trusts. A trust will provide income to a beneficiary of your choice and, later, a gift to Easton Mountain. This type of gift can offer an immediate tax deduction as well as deferred income at retirement.
SECURITIES AND STOCK
Easton Mountain offers tax-deductible giving options for those who want to support its spiritual, social justice, educational, and arts programs and help sustain or add to its infrastructure. For many of our generous donors, a gift of stock or securities may be more advantageous than a one-time, monetary contribution. We encourage you to talk to your financial advisor about transferring gifts of stock electronically.

MEMORIAL GARDEN
One of the traditional roles of community is to hold the memory of those who have died. Easton Mountain has created a place to serve this important function. Our Memorial Garden is a peaceful space where loved ones can be remembered. It is a quiet space for reflection, where one may sense the presence of loved ones who are now gone. Located above the apple orchard, the area was originally established as a family cemetery by the Harrington Family, early settlers who came to Easton Mountain shortly after the American Revolution. We have added a sculpture designed by artist and community member, Moss Tidd, as an altar to the ancestors with a columbarium for ashes of those who have passed. There are plans to continue developing the Memorial Garden as it becomes more utilized by our community.
COLUMBARIUM
Make arrangements for the ashes of yourself or a loved one to be placed in our Columbarium in our Memorial Garden. We can include this as part of a larger plan for Estate Giving or separately for a contribution of $2500 or more. TRIBUTE MEMORIALS
Honor and remember your loved ones by dedicating an item to their memory. Choose from long-lasting teak outdoor benches and Adirondack chairs placed around our land, or an engraved stone placed in the Memorial Garden

Once you have placed your order, someone from our team will contact you to discuss the customization of your memorial!
For a contribution of $2000 or more: We will install a Memorial Bench made of long lasting teak, that includes a brass plaque honoring your loved one(s). The benches will be placed in various locations on the property such as our Memorial Garden, our Fire Pit, on the shores of our pond or on one of our hiking trails.
