Jay Thomas
Jay Thomas is a health coach and eclectic shamanic practitioner. Jay facilitates workshops and retreats throughout New England, including for the gay/queer communities at Easton Mountain, Boston Living Soulfully, Rowe Labor Day Retreat for Men Who Love Men, GAYLA, the Radical Faeries at Camp Destiny, and the Rainbow Warriors of the Mankind Project.
Jay believes we are one heart with many rhythms on a journey to uncover the empowered beauty within ourselves, our families (of origin and choice), our communities, and the land where we live. Jay helps others learn about contemporary shamanic practices to help with problem-solving, self-discovery, personal growth, and healing.
Jay has studied with shaman/mystic/healer John Myerson since 2009 and is co-author with Dr. Myerson of The Way of the Red Dragon: Internal Alchemy, Shamanic Power, and the Journey Within (LifeArts Press, 2024) and Riding the Spirit Wind: Stories of Shamanic Healing (LifeArts Press, 2nd rev. ed., forthcoming Dec. 2025).Jay trained in Harner Shamanic Counseling through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. He is a facilitator/leader, presenter, and board member for the Society for Shamanic Practices, Northeast Chapter. His complementary training and experience include tarot, body/mind studies, insight and mindfulness meditation, Usui Reiki, Wicca, Ceremonial Magick, and mediumship.
He lives in Western Massachusetts at the base of a small mountain—across a river, down a dirt road, beside a stream, nestled in the forest.
