Flashback Friday, Episode 19 – Our Holiday Tree
Our holiday tree is a feature of the Great Room every December.
It includes some special decorations.
In 2006 each resident put his name on an ornament. If those ornaments haven't broken, we still put them on the tree today.
About that time, Harry Faddis showed us how to fold paper cranes using the Japanese technique known as origami. The cranes that were folded at that time are still hung on our tree every year.
This year, the tree was put up during the Advent retreat; it was here for our holiday party; and will stay up through Hail the New, our annual celebration of the new year.
In some years, a photo of our tree was on our holiday greeting cards.
