Freedom, Pride, Belonging

What does gay freedom mean to you?

Is it the ability to be fully seen? To live with courage, creativity, and pride? To build relationships on your own terms with people who understand the path you’ve walked?

Gay Freedom Camp is a 5-day retreat for GBTQ men to gather, remember, and celebrate freedom as something we practice, protect, and create together.

Rooted in the spirit of Pride, this retreat explores the arc of freedom: where we’ve been, what we’re still fighting for, and what we are called to create together now. Through heartfelt conversation, creative expression, ritual, embodiment, play, and community, we’ll explore what pride, liberation, healing, and connection mean in this moment.

We are pulling the schedule together and planning a mix of workshops and experiences that include figure drawing, queer history, freedom statements, forest and sound bathing options, spiritual exploration, massage, and more. We’re also creating a fun game show about gay history, a “Songs of Freedom” deck concert and party, a piano bar sing-along, a talent show, a dance party, and a community bonfire ritual drawing on past activist movements, celebrating our history, and imagining our future together.

Gay Freedom Camp is a space where you can show up as you are and be welcomed into a circle of GBTQ men who honor your uniqueness, no matter your age, body, identity, background, or experience. Whether you’re new to retreats or have been on a lifelong journey of self-discovery, you belong here.
