Dean Lintzeris

Resident Volunteer

Dean originally hails from Long Island, NY, but has zigzagged through different parts of the world, traveling throughout much of his twenties and living in places like China, the Netherlands and Belgium. After much (some might say too much) studying and contemplation, Dean finally decided to attend law school at Temple University in Philadelphia. Upon graduating and passing the bar, it seemed like the next logical step was to find a job as a lawyer and start working.

Dean did work as a lawyer for several years, and even started his own law practice, but something had been tugging at him to keep searching for something more; a spiritual path that could be reconciled with his identity. Dean found Easton through a random Google search for “gay spiritual retreat,” and underwent what was nothing short of a transformative experience at his first event. Dean realized he had found a community that welcomed and embraced both his identity and spirituality.

At around the same time Dean found Easton, he also came upon Vipassana (“Insight”) meditation, a practice rooted in Buddhist teachings that promotes the development of awareness and equanimity of the mind. Dean regularly attends ten-day silent Vipassana meditation retreats in western Massachusetts as a key component of his overall spiritual practice.

Dean enjoys being a part of the Easton Mountain Community and takes pride in creating a welcoming and nourishing environment for our guests, new and old, so they can have similar transformative experiences and discover their own spiritual paths. You might find Dean meditating in the Temple, taking a nap in the sunroom or washing dishes in the kitchen. He loves it all.
